Help with Roof Insurance Claims
If hail or wind damaged your roof, your homeowner's insurance may cover some or all of the repair. The process can feel confusing, especially the first time. Roaring Ranger Roofing helps you understand what's on your roof and document it clearly, so you can deal with your insurance company with confidence.
How a roof claim generally works
Every policy and every insurance company is a little different, but most roof claims follow a similar path:
- The storm happens. Note the date, and take photos of any damage you can safely see from the ground.
- You get the roof inspected. A free roof inspection tells you whether there's damage worth reporting before you file.
- You contact your insurance company. Policies usually have deadlines for reporting damage, so don't wait too long.
- An adjuster inspects the roof. The insurance company sends an adjuster to look at the damage.
- The insurance company makes a decision. They decide what's covered under your policy and send you their findings.
- Repairs or replacement get scheduled. If the claim is approved, you choose who does the work.
Documenting the damage
Good records make the process smoother. After our inspection, we explain what we found, such as hail hits, creased or missing shingles, damaged vents, and dented gutters, and what each one means.
It also helps to keep:
- Photos and video you took after the storm
- The date and approximate time of the storm
- Receipts for tarps or emergency repairs
- Copies of every letter, email, and estimate related to the claim
You stay in control of your claim
This is your claim, between you and your insurance company. We're a roofing contractor, not a public adjuster or an attorney. Texas law doesn't allow roofing contractors to act as public adjusters or negotiate claims on a homeowner's behalf, and we don't. What we do is inspect, document, explain in plain language, and give you a free estimate for the work.
If you have questions about your coverage, read your policy and call your insurance agent or company directly.
About your deductible
Your deductible is your responsibility. Texas law requires homeowners to pay their insurance deductible, and it's illegal for a contractor to waive, absorb, or rebate it. If anyone offers to "cover" or "eat" your deductible, treat that as a red flag.
